Overview of Data Topic
Google Trends is an insightful online service offered by Google, where you can type in and compare various search terms, and Google will tell you how often a particular search-term is entered, relative to the total search-volume across the countries of the world. I first studied “climate change” and “global warming.” Climate change was searched more often, because it’s a more umbrella term for the changes in the environment, but it was worth including “global warming,” another popular term in the environmental jargon. I then included “sea level” and “drought,” two of the most relevant and impactful effects of climate change.
